Our Philosophy
Our Mission
St. George's Episcopal School is an inclusive community, inspiring preschool children to love learning by nurturing each child's mind, body and spirit.
Our Philosophy
St. George's Episcopal School is a private Episcopal school under the auspices of St. George's Episcopal Church, Austin, Texas. It is a preschool, serving children from the ages of 18 months through 5 years.
St. George's is a preschool with extended care options to serve working parents. It retains the founding philosophy of a play-based school, with careful attention to the development of each child socially, physically, academically and spiritually. Structure is provided to our days by the use of learning units developed around specific topics. Each teacher creates daily developmentally-appropriate experiences for every child in order to create a lifelong love of learning. These experiences work to promote cooperation and respect within a diverse school community.
The playground is an outdoor classroom where we spend time each day. The playground provides space for exploration, movement, and physical development, as well as teamwork, socialization, experimentation, problem solving, and sharing. Weekly music and dance classes also augment the curriculum and offer each child the opportunity to develop an appreciation for the arts and an awareness of their own creative abilities.
