Katie has lived in Austin since 1980; she married her husband Alvin in 1982, and their two children both attend McCallum High School (Go Knights!).
Katie believes that, "Children are always learning, and it is our job to support that learning in whatever forms it takes, and that if children's experiences at school are supportive, nurturing, and positive, then together we are truly building the foundation upon which crucial skills and abilities grow."*

The Three Year-Olds Class
Rosemary Russell-Vines
The three year-olds are taught by Rosemary Russell-Vines, who is in her 36th year of teaching at St. George’s.
When not at the school, Rosemary enjoys gardening (an enjoyment that she likes to share with the children in the school gardens), reading (especially mysteries), bike riding and going to hear live music.
Rosemary says, “Being with the children is a delight and their enthusiam and joy in learning helps keep me young! They can be a challenge and tiring sometimes, but I wouldn’t have wanted to do anything else for the past 36 years!”
The Four to Five Year-Olds Class
Cindy Bogle
Cindy Bogle, who joined St, Georges’ staff in 2004, leads the 4 to 5 year-olds in a flurry of activities.
Cindy is a native of Seguin and came to Austin in 1986 to attend the University of Texas. Cindy has worked at Robert E. Lee Elementary as lead childcare teacher for the after school program and opened her own daycare in 1998 where she cared for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years old.
“I enjoy the challenges little ones have to offer. Though it is not easy and can be exhausting at times, it is so rewarding. I find that I learn just as much from them as they do from me.”
Cindy and her husband Sam have 2 daughters, Dani who attends Lee Elementary and Sami, who will soon attend St. George’s.
