Milestones
Developmental milestones that the 3-year-olds at St. George's School frequently achieve:
- Development of verbal communication skills,
- Recognition of own name in print,
- Prediction of logical outcome of stories,
- Ability to tell stories in sequence with pictures,
- Number recognition and concept to 10; count to 20 by rote,
- Identification and classification of objects by size, color, shape, and design,
- Development of awareness of senses,
- Comprehension of scientific concepts such as seasons/weather and awareness of nature and the world around us,
- Continued awareness of health, safety, and respect for their bodies, including a healthy concept of self,
- Understanding and participation in daily routines and activities,
- Understanding of socially acceptable expression of emotions,
- Development of self-help skills, including fine motor skills such as zip, button, snap, lace,
- Awareness of community roles and responsibilities,
- Enjoyment of holidays, and
- Continued development of gross motor and fine motor skills.
Supply List
All students at St. George's School should bring a mat, blanket, and pillow for rest time, which are taken home and laundered every Friday.
Students should also leave a complete change of clothes at the school. ALL PERSONAL BELONGINGS SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME.
Students who are still in diapers should bring a package of diapers and a box of wipes, as well as any other ointments or diaper cream. A complete diaper bag may also be left at the school each day, if desired.
