Curriculum Overview
St. George's School officially opens at 7:00am. As students arrive, many use the early morning time for self-directed play, whether it be the older children using the computers or the young ones building castles of blocks.
Organized activities begin once most of the children have arrived, usually around 8:15am, starting with Assembly. The students assemble every morning to sing, hear stories, and prepare for the many events throughout the school year.
During mid-morning, teacher-led group learning takes place.
At noon the children eat the lunches they have brought from home. These lunches are very important to the children as they provide a link from home to school. After lunch, the children have a rest period; the younger ones usually nap while the older children nap or quietly look at books.
After rest period, children go into Fun Zone time, during which teachers organize games and other fun activities. The children enjoy outside adventures including science lessons, art projects, and free play time.
Our days usually conclude with free time for all the children to play together outdoors on the playgrounds, weather permitting.
